Karan Johar’s hosted reality show The Traitors countdown has begun. The show comes with a unique concept and has 20 celebrities in the form of contestants. The reality show revolves around the themes of lies, deceit, and betrayal and amid all the chaos, conflicts, and conspiracies, the show will keep you on the edge of your seat.

About the reality show:

The show is filled with fiery exchanges, secretive plotting, shocking accusations, and emotional breakdowns, where the innocents have to find the traitors.

Describing about the show Karan Johar spoke to News 9 and said, “Trust is rare and dhoka is everywhere, but when Nikhil came home one evening and told me about The Traitors and asked me to host it, I reacted and said, ‘Who else can host a show like The Traitors?” Then I went and saw the international format.

I was enthralled, invested, and mesmerised by the sheer craziness and supremely clever show. 

And I was very much on, and said, “Let’s do it.” It is very different from any other reality show that is on any kind of platform, and this is something I haven’t done. The thing is, in many reality shows, they are also fraudulent. 

Daily, they are crying when they don’t want to cry, laughing loudly when they don’t want to. Here, it is none of that. It is all real and reacting authentically. There is no put-on. Here, you are feeling betrayed, hurt, or happy… You are the most authentic self.”

The Traitors’ release date and time:

The Traitors will release on Thursday (June 12) at 8 PM IST on Amazon Prime Video, and the new episodes will drop every Thursday. Based on a completely new kind of script, the audience in India will witness this kind of show for the very first time.

The Traitors trailer

The trailer shows the celebrities at Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan. They are on a physical and psychological mission to win the title and cash prizes. All the players are identified as innocents, and they have to find the traitors among them.

Every week, two contestants will be evicted from the show. Watch the trailer to see the highly anticipated reality show’s glimpse of upcoming series.

This show has 35 adaptations across 30 countries, and it is for the first time that the reality show has got its Indian adaptation. In India, the show is produced by BBC Studios India Productions in collaboration with independent distributor All3Media International. The show is set to be in Rajasthan.
