Telangana govt approves Rs 19,579 crore Hyderabad Metro project
Telangana cabinet on Thursday has approved several decisions including payment of two instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) to employees, developing 13,357 kms of roads, setting up healthcare trust for employees and setting up Telangana Earth Sciences University.
Telangana government has approved the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for phase-2 of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, involving three new metro corridors spanning 86.1 km to be built at a cost of Rs 19,579 crore reported.

Speaking to the media after the cabinet meeting, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the government aims to develop JBS into a world class transit hub.
Shamshabad Airport to Future City – 39.6 km
Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Medchal – 24.5 km – 18 stations.
Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Shamirpet – 22 km – 14 stations
What other projects have been approved?
Besides the metro expansion, Telangana cabinet on Thursday has approved several decisions including payment of two instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) to employees. One pending instalment from January 2023 will be cleared immediately and the second one will be announced in six months.”
Other decisions include developing 13,357 kms of roads, setting up healthcare trust for employees and setting up Telangana Earth Sciences University. The cabinet has also approved Rs 10 lakh accident insurance to all women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
The ministers said they reviewed critical issues including long-pending demands of state government employees and other demands would be addressed soon
