Actors Salman Khan and Vishnu Manchu have cancelled events after news broke of an Air India flight carrying 242 passengers crashing a few moments after take off near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday (June 12). Additionally, the makers of Rana Naidu have cancelled the exclusive screening of the upcoming Season in Mumbai.

Mukesh Singh, director of the film Kannappa, said, ” I was boarding the flight when we heard of the crash, and the trailer launch of Kannappa was immediately cancelled. It was a big event with Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal participating in it. But the grief that has struck so many families is very huge, and I cannot be selfish. ”

Additionally, Rana Daggubati-starrer Rana Naidu’s special screening was scheduled to take place on June 12 at 5 pm. However, after the tragic plane crash, the event was cancelled.

The team of the show said in a statement, “”In light of the tragic news concerning the Air India flight, and in solidarity with the families of those impacted, we have made a decision to cancel today’s fan and media event of Rana Naidu Season 2. Our hopes and prayers are with the families of those affected by this devastating news.”

Several celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, Sunny Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, and Sonu Sood, among others, expressed their grief on social media after the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad.

In a tragic incident, an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed. The flight was carrying 232 passengers and 10 crew members on the flight headed to London. The plane crashed into a hostel for doctors of a medical college, killing five students.

Salman Khan cancels the event:

Actor Salman Khan, who is the new face of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), was supposed to attend the press meet of the same in Mumbai on Thursday. However, after the news of the plane crash broke, the team cancelled the event.

The press note stated, “As we all have just heard the tragic incident that has taken place today. Indian Supercross Racing League and Mr. Salman Khan stand by the Nation United in this tough time. All our condolences and prayers are with the affected families. Jointly, we have made a responsible decision to reschedule this event to a further date.”

Vishnu Manchu cancels Kannappa trailer event:

Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannnappa’s trailer was scheduled to release on June 13. In light of the Ahmedabad plane crash, the trailer launch event is deferred by one day. The statement read, “My heart breaks for the lives lost in today’s Ahmedabad Air India crash.

In deep mourning, we’re deferring the #Kanappa trailer release by one day and cancelling tomorrow’s Indore pre‑release event. My prayers are with the families during this unimaginably difficult time.”
