Mumbai Metro 3: Check change in timings for April 25-26

The Mumbai Metro official notification informed that as per the new schedule, metro trains running between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey will operate from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm on Friday, April 25. On Saturday, April 26, the trains will run from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm.

Mumbai:

As per the new schedule, Metro trains running between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey will operate from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm on Friday, April 25. On Saturday, April 26, the trains will run from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm.

City’s Aqua Line, also known as Mumbai Metro Line 3, will run on a slightly changed schedule for two days—April 25 and 26. This update was shared on Thursday, April 24, by the Mumbai Metro 3 team through their official social media. The change in timing is due to technical reasons, as mentioned in their post.

Metro officials have asked people to plan their travel accordingly. They explained that this temporary adjustment is necessary and is part of preparations for upcoming metro service expansions.

Mumbai Metro Phase 2 launch

This timing change comes just before the launch of Phase 2 of Mumbai’s first underground metro line. Phase 2 will connect Dharavi to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli, and final preparations are now in progress.

Even though the new temporary schedule may cause small delays for some passengers, metro officials say it’s a necessary step toward the bigger goal. They believe the Metro system will soon become faster, better connected, and more efficient for all of Mumbai.

Back on March 11, authorities had shared an update that with Phase 1 of Metro Line 3 already working, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is now preparing for Phase 2. The second phase, which will run from BKC to Cuffe Parade, has already reached 93% completion. The whole Metro Line 3 project is nearly done, with 95% work finished overall.

Currently, the first phase of the Aqua Line, which connects Aarey and BKC, is running smoothly and helping many people each day. This section of the line is 12.44 kilometers long and has 10 stations. The trains make 96 trips daily from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm. What once took more than an hour by road now takes only 30 minutes by metro. Ticket prices range from Rs 10 to Rs 50 for one-way trips.
