Mumbai: 

According to the official note, BEST mentioned that the AC bus route A-8, which runs between Mantralaya and Shivaji Nagar Terminus, will now be known as A-8. From Mantralaya, the first bus will leave at 8:05 a.m., and the last one will run at 10:50 p.m. From Shivaji Nagar, the first bus will leave at 6:50 a.m., and the last one at 9:15 p.m.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has shared a major update on many of its bus routes in Mumbai. On Thursday, the public transport body said it will change some routes, add new services, and start more air-conditioned (AC) buses. Some old routes will also be changed or stopped. The schedule for many buses has also been updated.

BEST bus services: New routes, timings

AC Route-10: Will now go through Hutatma Chowk, Bhendi Bazaar, and Mazgaon. It will no longer pass through Museum, Reserve Bank, or P D’Mello Road.

Route 11: Will take a new path through Sant Dnyaneshwar Flyover (Lalbaug) and skip Rani Baug, Jai Hind Cinema, and Lalbaug.

Route C-71: Now extended to Kala Killa Depot from Mahim.

Route 79: Now ends at Prabodhankar Thackeray Nagar (Charkop).

Route A-89: Will run from Monday to Saturday and on public holidays. No service on Sundays.

Route A-124: Will operate every day between Colaba Bus Station and Worli Depot.

Route 125 becomes A-125: Now goes through Mohammad Ali Road and is an AC service.

Route 181: Will now end at Marol Depot instead of SEEPZ.

Route 25: Now merged into Route 29, so it will no longer run separately.

Route A-25: Will now end at Rani Laxmibai Chowk (Sion) instead of Kurla Depot.

Route 44 becomes A-44: The route from Kalachowki to Worli is now AC.

Route 56 becomes A-56: AC buses will run on Sundays only; regular buses will run Monday to Saturday.

Route 212: Changed path now includes Bhoiwada, Spring Mill, and Sharda Cinema instead of Hindmata and Madkebuwa Chowk.

Route 241 becomes A-241: This AC route will run between Santacruz Depot and Malwani Bus Depot.

Route 243 becomes A-243: Changed to AC bus service.

Route 343 becomes A-343: AC buses will now run between Goregaon and Chitranagari via Santosh Nagar.

Route 344 becomes A-344: Now an AC circular route between Goregaon Bus Station (East) and Nagari Nivara Project.

Route 347 becomes A-347: The Goregaon to Gokuldham route now has AC buses.

Route A-357: Will now end at Vasantrao Naik Chowk (Tardeo) instead of Mumbai Central Depot.

Route A-399: Now runs between Trombay and Maharana Pratap Chowk (Mulund) and ends earlier than before.

Route 602 becomes A-602: Now an AC service between Kanjurmarg Station (West) and Hiranandani (Powai).

Route 626 becomes A-626: The route from Malad Station to Bhujale Talao is now AC.

Route A-180: Will now go through Bahar Cinema, Gokhale Flyover, and Swami Vivekanand Road.

Route 452 becomes A-452: Now an AC route between Goregaon and Mayur Nagar.

Route 456: Changed to a general circular service and is no longer called A-456.

Route 459 becomes A-459: Now runs as an AC bus from Mulund to Malvani.

Route A-488: The route has changed and will now go through Sant Narasi Mehta Marg and Asalfa Village instead of the Kurla-Andheri pipeline area.

New AC bus routes

New Route A-175: Starts from Pratiksha Nagar Depot and goes to Prabodhankar Thackeray Udyan (Dadar – Portuguese Church) via Antop Hill and Wadala Church.

New Route A-490: Starts from Mantralaya and ends at Dadlani Park, Balkum (Thane West). Goes through the Eastern Freeway and Expressway. This will run only during busy morning and evening hours.

Officials said these changes have been made to make travel more comfortable and help people move across the city more easily.
