Bengaluru man undergoes surgery after another car driver bites his finger

Bengaluru businessman Jayant Shekhar was seriously injured in a road rage incident on Magadi Road after a minor crash. A violent altercation followed, leaving him with severe injuries, including a bitten finger. A formal complaint has been lodged and police is currently investigating the matter.

Bengaluru:

Shekhar had been returning home with his wife, Parvati, and mother-in-law, Manjula, after dinner when the incident occurred. As their electric vehicle passed through the rain-soaked railway colony area, water splashed onto a nearby car — an accidental event that provoked an aggressive reaction from the other driver.

A routine evening drive turned into a harrowing experience for Bengaluru businessman Jayant Shekhar, who sustained serious injuries following a violent road rage incident on Magadi Road last Sunday. The assault left him with a badly injured finger requiring surgery and medical expenses amounting to nearly Rs 2 lakh. Notably, during the physical altercation, Shekhar was severely bitten on his right ring finger.

Bengaluru Police registers criminal case against both accused

The woman, according to those present, was similarly aggressive during the confrontation, compounding the distress of the situation. The following day, Shekhar lodged a formal complaint with the local police. A criminal case was registered against both suspects, and an investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend them.

Man badly assaulted despite apology

Despite Shekhar’s efforts to apologise and continue his journey, the other vehicle overtook and blocked his path, forcing him to stop. The male driver, accompanied by a woman, then exited the car and confronted Shekhar.

What followed was a sudden escalation. The man verbally abused Shekhar before physically assaulting him, biting down on his right ring finger with such force that surgery was later required. He also punched Shekhar below his left eye and issued threats before fleeing the scene with the woman.
