The demolition took place at Diamond Estate layout, which is spread over 9 acres of land with 27 guntas in Survey No. 145 of Hydernagar Division of Kukatpally Mandal, bringing some relief to 79 landowners.

Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset monitoring agency has launched a large scale demolition drive in Miyapur-Hydernagar area, aiming to raze illegal buildings constructed on government owned land.

The land was encroached upon by an individual named Shiva Durga Prasad, who had secured a High Court stay preventing the owners from accessing their land.

In September 2024, the land owners went to court and secured a win and despite the ruling, the encroacher failed to vacate the land. The owners then filed a complaint with Hydraa at the prajavani grievance redressal platform.

Hydraa deployed a team and razed the structures on the site and the land owners expressed gratitude to officials for enforcing the court order and helping them in reclaiming their right on the property.
