Cannes 2025: Tom Cruise Starrer Mission Impossible
Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning premiered at Cannes 2025 to a five-minute standing ovation.

Cruise, 61, arrived with Christopher McQuarrie, the film's director. Cruise and McQuarrie were seen engaging with the excited fans. Cruise was taking selfies with fans and signing autographs. The fans were equally happy to share the moment with the actor, even waving posters and memorabilia from Cruise's previous films, including The Last Samurai and Mission: Impossible II.
Hollywood icon Tom Cruise lit up the red carpet on the second day of the 78th Cannes Film Festival. He was attending the Cannes for the world premiere of his film Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. The Hollywood star, who last attended film festival in 2022 for Top Gun: Maverick, received a rousing welcome from fans and the media with cheers and flashing cameras.
The world premiere of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning was one of the highlights of the second day of the festival. Following the screening, the film received a thunderous ovation that lasted over five minutes. Filmmaker McQuarrie, visibly moved by the reception, addressed the crowd, saying, "This response is why we do it. You are why we do it. The big screen experience is why we do it."
McQuarrie also acknowledged the challenges the production faced, having navigated a global pandemic and two major industry strikes. "This film was made under extraordinary circumstances, and I am immensely proud of this cast for their dedication," he said.
Apart from Cruise, the cast of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning also includes Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Esai Morales as the antagonist Gabriel, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas, and Pom Klementieff as the assassin Paris. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on May 23, 2025, but Indian audiences will enjoy an early premiere on May 17.
