Shah Rukh Khan, referred to as the ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood, has built a legacy with not only his films but also with his Rs 200 crore mansion, Mannat, in Mumbai. For Shah Rukh, his home is not just a concrete house but an emotion. One of the most luxurious buildings in Mumbai’s Bandra, Mannat is a symbol of family security, stability, and legacy.

When Shah Rukh Khan opened up about Mannat

When he got married and had children, he was determined about owning the house, ensuring that his children and future generations would have a place to call their own. He explained in an old interview that when he had kids, he got his lavish bungalow, Mannat and it became his family home. He added, “We took a decision, we’ll always live in Bombay. So my great-grandchildren are going to live in this house like some old Parsi family.”

In a throwback video, Shah Rukh Khan reflected on his journey and the challenges he faced in buying the house. Calling it the most “difficult” thing he has done in his life, he shared vhe he don’t have a house anywhere in the world and never had a house because his parents died but always had a “house fetish” that he want a house.

The Pathaan actor strongly believes that Mannat is a symbol of stability and security. In the same video, he said that if there is a problem, his office and studio can be taken away but his home is for the security of his wife, sister and his children.

In the throwback video, Shah Rukh Khan also opened up about certain rules in the house. One of which is no phone calls once he is inside Mannat. However, he often makes phone calls from the bathroom, here and there, closes the door and talks.

Special spirituality corner in Mannat

Mannat also comprises spirituality, tradition and religious corner which keeps his kids connected to the faith, irrespective of which religion they follow. He added, “Children should know about the value of God, whether it’s a Hindu god or a Muslim god. So next to Ganesh and Lakshmi, we have the Quran also there. It makes me feel very emotional.”
