The announcement was made online on Tuesday (April 8, 2025) by Bollywood actress Yami Gautam, who portrayed the character of the female lead in the romantic comedy, through a special Instagram post. Well, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the re-release declaration of the flick has left moviegoers excited.

Lately, we have observed some of the most loved films of recent times making their comeback in theaters and raking in big moolah at the Box Office. Following the suit is Vicky Donor, which marked the debut of Ayushmann Khurrana in the Hindi film industry.

“One of the finest cinemas I’ve ever seen. Just can’t wait for this,” wrote a user of the popular photo and video sharing platform. Another commented, “Gonna watch this for sure in the movie theatre.”

Produced by actor John Abraham with Sunil Lulla under Eros International and Ronnie Lahiri under Rising Sun Films, Vicky Donor proved successful in winning the hearts of the audiences with its gripping storyline and compelling performances by actors. On IMDb (Internet Movie Database), the film is rated 7.7 out of 10 with insights from around 46 thousand users of the platform.

Alongside the duo, Vicky Donor also featured Annu Kapoor, Dolly Ahluwalia, Kamlesh Gill, Puja Gupta and Inderpal Singh in pivotal roles. It was initially released on the silver screen on April 20, 2012.

The storyline of the flick revolves around a job-seeking youth who meets a fertility expert and becomes the biggest sperm donor for his clinic. The entertainment quotient of the plot intensifies as he falls in love with an ambitious accountant.

According to Sacnilk, the Shoojit Sircar directorial was made on a budget of Rs 10 crore. The industry tracker further states that it raked in Rs 54.66 crore at the worldwide Box Office, making it a massive commercial success. Vicky Donor is being re-released as part of PVR-INOX Curated Shows.
