Tremors felt across NCR as 7.7 magnitude quake jolts Myanmar
An earthquake of magnitude 7.2 hit neighbouring Myanmar at around 11:50 am on Friday. Strong tremors were also felt across Delhi NCR and Bangkok, Thailand. More details are awaited.

As per reports, the iconic Ava Bridge in Mandalay, Myanmar collapsed into the Irrawaddy River due to the quake. Several buildings also collapsed due to the strong tremors. The epicentre of the earthquake was near Sagaing area in Myanmar.
Tremors were felt across Delhi NCR at around 11:50 am on Friday as two back-to-back earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 hit neighbouring Myanmar. Tremors were also felt in Bangkok, Thailand. Several social media users shared visuals on internet which showed buildings shaking intensely as the earthquake struck.
As per the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck Myanmar at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). The epicentre was about 17.2 km from Mandalay city, which has a population about 1.2 million.
Buildings collapse in Bangkok
The impact of the earthquakes was so strong that it jolted Bangkok which is around 900 km away. Several high-rise buildings collapsed in the Thai capital. The quake forced people to run out of their homes to save their lives. In videos circulating online, water can be seen sloshing out of swimming pool and furniture shaking.
So far, no casualties have been reported in Bangkok. Rescue operations are on. Strong tremors were also felt in many areas of NCR including Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad.
