How to Train Your Dragon 2025 Box Office collection Day 1

How to Train Your Dragon is a 2025 American fantasy adventure movie that serves as a live-action adaptation of the 2010 animated film How to Train Your Dragon created by DreamWorks Animation. The movie premiered in theaters on June 13 and has released in multiple languages and formats, including IMAX 3D, and resonated well with Indian audiences.

How to Train Your Dragon has finally hit the theaters and is doing a marvellous job at the box office. The movie, which is directed by Dean DeBlois released in theaters on June 13. The movie is said to be inspired by Cressida Cowell’s New York Times bestselling book series.

Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s live-action is a remake of the 2010 animated film, How to Train Your Dragon.

The movie’s storyline is about harsh island of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been enemies for ages. Hiccup distinguishes himself as the creative yet undervalued son of Chief Stoick the Vast. Hiccup goes against hundreds of years of customs by forming a friendship with Toothless, a dreaded Night Fury dragon.

Their unexpected connection uncovers the genuine essence of dragons, questioning the very core of Viking culture. The story also shows the relationship between dragons and humans, and shows the challenges, fears, and conflicts of the two species.

The film, which is released in IMAX 3D, is resonating with the audiences very well and has minted Rs 4.88 crore net at the Indian box office on its opening day, as reported by the TOI and according to film industry tracker Sacnilk’s earlier estimates.

Box Office collection and other details of the movie

The Mint reported that the film has collected Rs 2.96 crore net from its original English version and ₹1.1 crore net from Hindi shows. The rest of the earnings, Rs 36 lakh and Rs 46 lakh, came from Tamil and Telugu screenings. The film is expected to earn more as the movie is based on a father-son relationship and has been released just a day after Father’s Day.

The film’s cast includes Mason Thames, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Nico Parker, Peter Serafinowicz, Julian Dennison, and Nick Frost. The film’s sequel is also lined up and is said to be released by 2027.
