Suresh Raina to become fastest Indian to 4,000 runs in IPL

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav became the fastest Indian to complete 4,000 runs in the IPL enroute to his 28-ball 54 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday.

Mumbai Indians (MI) star Suryakumar Yadav achieved a huge milestone in his side’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday as he became the fastest Indian batter to complete 4,000 runs in the tournament.

Suryakumar completed 4,000 runs in 2714 balls en route to his brilliant knock of 54 runs off 28 balls against LSG at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Suryakumar Yadav surpassed Kieron Pollard in elite list:

Suryakumar achieved yet another milestone during his side’s clash against LSG as he surpassed Kieron Pollard to become the second-highest run-getter of all time for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Suryakumar now has 3413 runs for Mumbai Indians in 106 matches in the IPL at an impressive strike rate of 150.75, including 2 tons and 26 fifties.

Pollard is in the third spot with 3412 runs in 189 matches at a strike rate of 147.32, including 16 fifties. Rohit Sharma is the leading run-getter of all time for Mumbai Indians in the IPL with 5698 runs in 221 matches at an average of 29.52 and a strike rate of over 13, including two centuries and 37 fifties.

Suryakumar became the 13th Indian and the 17th overall to complete 4,000 runs in the IPL. He has so far scored 4021 runs in 160 matches in his IPL career at an average of over 34 and an impressive strike rate of 147.56, including 2 centuries and 27 fifties. Suryakumar’s strike rate is the best among Indian batters with more than 4,000 runs in the tournament.

Suryakumar surpassed the likes of Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli among others to become the fastest Indian batter to complete 4,000 runs in the IPL.

He broke the record held by former CSK batter Raina, who completed 4,000 runs in 2881 balls. Suryakumar is overall in the third spot on the elite list of batters, who have been fastest to 4,000 runs in the tournament.

Former RCB batters Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers hold the top spot jointly, having reached the milestone in 2658 balls each.

Suryakumar is now in the third spot, having completed 4,000 runs in 2714 balls, followed by former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner, who completed the milestone in 2809 balls.

Suryakumar was only 33 runs away from completing 4,000 runs heading into the clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium.

He breached the 4000-run mark with a boundary against Avesh Khan in the 14th over of MI’s innings. Suryakumar finished with 54 off 28 balls laced with 4 sixes and as many fours.
