Starlink performance terminal kit unveiled: Here is what’s new

Starlink’s new Performance terminal kit, launched June 3, 2025, delivers high-speed internet exceeding 400 Mbps for extreme environments. Priced at $1,999, it’s built for durability, withstanding harsh weather and vibrations for up to 10 years.

New Delhi:

The performance terminal has been designed to resist temperatures from -40°C up to 60°C, strong winds of 270 kph and hail the size of 1.25 inches. Its aluminium case and high waterproof rating guarantee the equipment may work well for up to 10 years. SpaceX has mentioned that there will be upgrades, and in 2026, the kit is set to deliver gigabit speeds. This launch is important for Starlink because it allows them to offer strong internet access to more people around the world, especially in tough parts of the globe.

The Starlink Performance terminal, SpaceX’s most recent satellite internet kit, is designed for areas that are not easily accessed. The kit was introduced on June 3, 2025, and promises fast internet up to 400 Mbps, even when facing harsh weather. With a price of $1,999, it aims to serve business users who require a stable connection in harsh weather, rough environments or when they are travelling on boats or vehicles, reported by Bloomberg.

Key features of the performance terminal

The Starlink Performance Kit has a flexible power supply that can use both AC and DC electricity, so it fits many different uses. This server is able to be installed in a rack, making it ideal for companies. This kit is designed to be strong and flexible, so it melts snow and survives both being immersed in water and the vibrations of a rocket landing. That’s why these features are ideal for use when things are moving, such as on ships or vehicles.

Enhanced connectivity for remote areas

Starlink plans to offer gigabit speeds by improving the performance of its network. From 2026, the upgrades will first be introduced in the most remote locations, according to the tough environment the kit is made for. The performance terminal makes the most of these developments, giving companies a reliable way to access fast internet for years to come.

The Performance terminal is designed to be extremely reliable in remote and underserved areas, unlike the standard Starlink kit. SpaceX says it will provide reliable high-speed internet where other Wi-Fi systems don’t work. Therefore, it greatly improves communications in areas like shipping, aviation and research in remote locations. Being able to operate in extreme conditions allows the kit to provide connectivity where others can’t.
