Saif Ali Khan:
Saif Ali Khan’s entire family rallied around him after he suffered a brutal attack by an intruder on January 16. Throughout his recovery and two major surgeries, he was constantly surrounded by loved ones. His mother, Veteran actor Shamila Tagor, immediately flew from Delhi to Mumbai to be by his side. While Saif was recuperating in the hospital, the Gulmohar Star visited Him Every day . In a recent interaction, Saif revealed how his mother remained by his side throughout and even sang him lullabies—the same ones she used to sing when he was a child.
In an interview with The Times of India, Saif recalled that he fought the intruder alone when he discovered him in his younger son Jeh’s room. He shared that his mother “completely understood” his decision and parental instinct, as she would have done the same. “I guess it’s every parent’s instinct,” Saif said.
Saif also revealed that Sharmila was highly protective of him during his hospital stay, ensuring that no secondary infections reached him. She was strict about everyone wearing a face mask, including the doctors. “She was making sure everyone wore a mask, including the doctors. So there was a bit of fear of the mother,” he shared. Amid this difficult phase, Saif recalled how his mother comforted him. “She held my hand and sang me a song. It was a lullaby. That hasn’t happened since I was a baby,” he added.
The actor also spoke about his decision to take Taimur to the hospital with him after the young boy asked if he could come along. Saif admitted that he initially thought Sharmila might be “annoyed” by his choice, but she was instead fully supportive. “She told me, ‘No, what you thought was right, and you’ve exposed him in such a different way to so many things’—that I mean, he’s a different kind of kid,” Saif revealed.
Bottom of Form
Saif walked out of the hospital five days after the attack. During the interview, he admitted to having 30 scars from the incident, with one deep stab wound that caused leakage in his spine. Weeks later, he made his first public appearance at a Netflix event, where he announced his next film, The Jewel Thief, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat.
