Noida:

A big part of the work is now complete, and the entire road is expected to be ready within a week. The lane going from Greater Noida West to Crossing Republik has already been finished, and many people have started using it. The other side is also nearly done.

People are still waiting for Shahberi Road to reopen after it was closed on March 25 for widening work. This important road connects Gaur City in Greater Noida West to Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad. The road work, which was supposed to take 20 days, is running behind schedule. The plan was to expand the road by about 1.5 meters on both sides. Now, officials have shared a new timeline for when the road will be ready.

Earlier, this road—starting from the Iteda roundabout—was only about 3 meters wide and had just one lane. This caused regular traffic jams. To fix this, the Greater Noida Authority started widening the 1.5-kilometer-long Shahberi Road on March 25. Along with widening the road, an RCC surface is being added, and drainage systems are being installed on both sides. The full project is being done at a cost of ₹3 crore. Once finished, traveling between Greater Noida West and Crossing Republik will be much easier and faster.

Nitesh Kumar, a manager with the Authority, said that the road is now wider by at least 1.5 meters on each side, and in some areas, it has been expanded by up to 2 meters. One lane is already ready and is being used by vehicles, and the rest will be completed soon.

“The road widening project from Sector-4 in Greater Noida West to Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad will be done in about a week. This will help reduce traffic problems in the Shahberi area. A drainage system has also been built to manage rainwater,” said Prerna Singh, ACEO of the Greater Noida Authority, in a report published by Hindustan.
