Senior Bihar officials donate blood on World Blood Donor Day
A blood donation camp was organised by IAS, IPS and IFS officers and their respective wives’ associations to mark World Blood Donor Day at IAS Bhawan in Patna on Friday.

The blood donation camp was organised with the collaborative efforts of the IAS, IPS, and IFS Associations with active support from their respective Wives Associations. A total of 207 units of blood was collected at the camp and the same was handed over to the hospitals so that it can be given to those in need and save the precious lives.
Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, DGP Vinay Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Prabhat Kumar Gupta and state’s former Chief Secretary VS Dubey jointly inaugurated the camp.
Asserting that blood donation is “Mahadan” (supreme donation), Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena said that “your decision to donate blood could save someone’s precious life. By donating blood, we can truly serve the humanity.”
A total of 207 people voluntarily donated blood at the camp to express their solidarity with those in need. Bureaucrats, police officers, IFS officers and members of wives association participated at the camp for a noble cause of blood donation.
Notably, June 14, the World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year.
The day is dedicated to the lakhs of voluntary, unpaid blood donors who save countless lives. This is not only an opportunity to express one’s gratitude towards the humanity but also to highlight the need for safe and regular blood donation.
