Batting stalwart Virat Kohli has joined his franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) two days ahead of the resumption of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. On Thursday, video of Kohli spotted in the RCB jersey in Bengaluru went viral on social media as the senior batter made his way to join the rest of the teammates.
Meanwhile, Kohli arrived in Bengaluru on May 15, to support the franchise as he was seen in the team hotel in the city donning the jersey. Kohli would be eager to make a mark in his first IPL game post announcing his retirement from the longest format of cricket
Kohli recently announced his retirement from the Test format and with the IPL being suspended for almost 10 days, from May 7 to May 17, the legendary cricketer joined his family in Mumbai to spend some quality time with his wife and kids. During the break time, Kohli did not stay at home but just a day after bidding adieu to the whites, the star cricketer, alongside wife Anushka Sharma, was spotted in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh for a spiritual trip
RCB have played 11 matches so far and have won eight of those with their points tally at 16. The team is on the cusp of storming into the playoffs and a certain contender for lifting the title. Earlier on Thursday, the senior batter was seen exiting the Bengaluru airport escorted by security personals. The video was shared on the fan page of Kohli on social media handle X
Kohli has performed well in the 11 matches of the ongoing edition for RCB scoring over 500 runs. While he has failed to smash a century till now but the veteran has scored 7 half-centuries with a best score of 73. Kohli looks poised to elevate his performance with some remarkable scores in the remainder of the matches.
