“The purpose of terrorism is not war but to cripple a society with fear. The aim is to spread panic, divide society, derail the country’s economic growth, and create lawlessness at every level. If we want to preserve and nurture the sovereignty of this nation, these elements must be dealt with an iron hand and a steely long-term resolve,” he wrote in a post on social media platform X.

A day after terrorists attacked a group of tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir—killing 28 people—Sadhguru, founder of the Isha Foundation, expressed his deepest condolences to the victims and their families. He also strongly condemned the cowardly attack on the unsuspecting tourists.

Reflecting on the broader intent behind such acts, Sadhguru stressed the need for a measured and united national response.

Sadhguru urges long-term and enduring solution

Sadhguru urged the nation to look beyond short-term countermeasures and focus on long-term and enduring solutions. He stressed on the importance of equitable access to education, economic opportunities, and social welfare. “There are larger, long-term solutions—more equal distribution of education, economic opportunities, wealth, and welfare at all levels,” he noted.

He further called for unity in the face of adversity. “For now, it is of utmost importance to stand together as a nation—beyond all narrow divides of religion, caste, creed, or political affiliation—and to support our security forces at all levels in carrying out their duties. Our deepest condolences and blessings to all who are bereaved or injured,” Sadhguru said.
