The Supreme Court granted him protection from coercive action last week and said that his passport can be made available to him so he could return to India. The court also asked him to return within three days upon the receipt of his passport.

The bench comprising of Justices Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma asked Rao to appear before the investigation officers of the SIT, who are probing the case.

The prime accused in Telangana phone tapping case, T Prabhakar Rao, arrived in Hyderabad on Monday, June 2,  shortly after the Supreme Court granted temporary protection from arrest.

The former Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) chief will appear before the Hyderabad police on June 5, Tv9 telugu reported.
