With Robert Downey Jr’s return to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), fans are more excited than ever, re-watching and catching up with the lore they might’ve missed. The cast for the Avengers: Doomsday was unveiled on a live stream event on Wednesday (March 26). Get the entire list here!

MCU fans are hoping for a resurgence in the superhero genre. What was once one of the most profitable and loved genres has declined in popularity. The reason? It could be anything from lack of fresh ideas to superhero saturation. However, it is all expected to change with Avengers: Doomsday.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, best known as the Russo brothers, the highly anticipated film is set to release on May 1, 2026, with a sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, releasing on May 7, 2027.

While fans are upset that they will not see some of their favourite characters/actors return for the big crossover, only time will tell if Doomsday will manage to bring back the public’s attention to the world of superheroes. For context, the big names that were not included in this list were – Chris Evans as Captain America, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Balck Widow, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury.

As mentioned, the live stream event revealed the long-awaited list for the Avengers: Doomsday cast. The exciting line-up finally unites iconic fan-favourite characters from previous Avengers and X-Men movies, as well as new characters from the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps. For those unaware, Robert Downey Jr will not be returning to the franchise as Iron Man but as Victor Von Doom or Doctor Doom.
