Nothing teams up with KEF to launch premium audio products later this year

UK-based tech brand Nothing has announced a strategic partnership with audio legend KEF. The collaboration promises high-end audio hardware blending KEF's six decades of acoustic innovation with Nothing's modern, transparent design style. New products are set to launch later in 2025.

New Delhi:

The first wave of co-developed products is expected to drop later this year, according to the companies. While neither side has revealed what these devices will be just yet, the announcement hints at a long-term partnership and a wider portfolio of sound-focused hardware.

London-based tech startup Nothing has announced a fresh collaboration with iconic British audio brand KEF. The move brings together one of the newest faces in tech with one of the oldest names in high-fidelity audio. The partnership will focus on building new consumer audio products that blend KEF’s rich acoustic engineering with Nothing’s design-first approach.

KEF’s audio legacy meets Nothing’s bold design

KEF, founded in 1961 by former BBC engineer Raymond Cooke, has spent over 60 years working on high-performance speakers and sound systems. They’re known for precision audio and design quality. “This partnership allows us to bring our acoustic heritage into a fresh context,” said Grace Lo, President & Head of Global Marketing at KEF. “Together, we’re setting out to redefine what premium audio can look and feel like for the next generation.”

Nothing, on the other hand, has quickly gained attention for its edgy transparent designs and alternative take on consumer tech. Since its launch in 2020, the brand has sold over 9 million products across smartphones, audio wearables, and more. Its Phone (1) even landed in Time Magazine’s list of best inventions for smartphone design.

Andrew Freshwater, Head of Smart Products Marketing at Nothing, said, “KEF is one of the most respected names in audio, and we’re proud to partner with them as we take the next step in expanding Nothing’s audio journey.”

What this means for the audio industry

It’s also a rare partnership between two UK-based brands that could put British innovation back in the global audio spotlight. If the products reflect both companies’ strengths, it could lead to a new wave of mass-market audio gear with high-end sound.

More details about the co-developed audio hardware are expected to be announced in the coming months.

For Nothing, the tie-up brings serious sound credentials as it eyes new audio categories. For KEF, it’s a chance to tap into a younger, global audience through stylish and tech-forward products. Both companies are calling the deal a strategic move that combines engineering, design, and user experience.
