No external theft at Raj Bhavan
A female employee at Raj Bhavan lodged a complaint with the police that her pictures were morphed inappropriately.
Hyderabad Police clarified that no external robbery occurred at Raj Bhavan, Telangana Governor’s official residence.
Panjagutta ACP S Mohan Kumar said that the incident was an internal breach by an employee, not external theft.
A female employee at Raj Bhavan had reportedly lodged a complaint saying that her pictures were morphed in an inappropriate manner and shared with her colleague, Srinivas. The complaint was lodged on May 10.
Suspended employee re-arrested:
As per reports, Srinivas returned to Raj Bhavan after his suspension and removed a hard disk from his previously used system, which reportedly contained the morphed images.
A fresh complaint was filed on May 15 over the missing hardware. The police acted swiftly to retrieve the hardware and re-arrested Srinivas after questioning.
The ACP refuted reports that sensitive government documents were stolen and reiterated that the misconduct was limited to the suspended employee.
Following an investigation into the incident, police arrested Srinivas, an IT hardware employee at Raj Bhavan on May 12. He was later arrested on bail but Raj Bhavan initiated disciplinary measures against and suspended him.
“Today, on May 20, it can be observed that the news coming through various channels that outsiders came and stole from the Raj Bhavan; that documents containing important matters related to the Raj Bhavan were also lost is false,” the statement read.
