Netanyahu asks military to intensify pressure on Hamas
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a significant escalation of military pressure on Hamas following the rejection of a temporary truce. The war was described by Netanyahu as a fight for Israel's existence until victory.

“This war has very heavy prices because any such loss is a world in and of itself. But we as people who desire life have no choice but to continue fighting for our very existence until victory,” he added.
His address came after Israeli strikes killed more than 90 people in 48 hours, confirmed by Gaza’s Health Ministry on Saturday. Later in the day, an Israeli airstrike killed one person in the Central Gaza. Hamas said it recovered the body of a guard killed in the strikes.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday said that instructions were given to the military to ramp up the pressure on Hamas after the Palestinian militant group recently rejected their proposal for another temporary truce. There were demands instead to end the war in exchange for releasing the hostages.
In an address during late night, Netanyahu admitted that the war came at a cost of very ‘heavy price’, but Israel was left with no choice other than continuing the fight for its existence.
“I have ordered the IDF to respond firmly and further increase the pressure on Hamas. We are in the war of rebirth, the war on seven fronts,” Netanyahu said.
The ceasefire in Gaza, which was announced on January 15 this year, was abandoned by Israel last month after seeking to extend the temporary truce which saw temporary truce that had seen 38 hostages released. On other hand, Hamas has said that it will release the remaining hostages in a deal that ends the war, as per news agency Reuters.
