Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 2: BKC to Worli in 15 minutes

Mumbai's Metro Line 3 Phase 2, connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Worli, was inaugurated on May 9. The new section offers a 15-minute commute and serves key areas like Dharavi and Siddhivinayak Temple. The line features free Wi-Fi to combat network issues.

New Delhi:

This marked the opening of the underground metro rail into the Maharashtra capital city, which will allow the passengers to travel from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Worli in 15 minutes. The second phase of the Aqua line also connects to the areas such as Dharavi, Siddhivinayak Temple (in Dadar), and Shitladevi Temple (in Mahim).

The Mumbai Metro Line-3 has entered to another level as the phase 2 of the network was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on May 9, and it was opened for the public on the following day (May 10).

The Mumbai Metro-3 involves three phases in Aarey Colony to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), BKC to Worli, and Worli to Cuffe Parade. The stations included in the second phase (BKC to Worli) are as followed – Dharavi, Shitladevi Temple, Dadar, Siddhivinayak Temple, Worli and Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka).

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has announced free-Wifi facility at all operational Aqua line stations. The reason behind this is the fact that there are consistent mobile network blackouts observed inside the stations as well inside the trains. This deterred the passengers in availing services like digital ticketing through UPI payments other than communication issues.

The ticket fare from Aarey Colony (phase one) to Acharya Atre Chowk (final destination of phase two) is set for Rs 60.

The 9.77-kilometre BKC-Worli Metro-3 is being operated with eight trains with a frequency of six minutes and 20 seconds, as per a report by News18. The first train from Aarey JVLR leaves at 6:30am and the last train from Acharya Atre Chowk is scheduled at 10:30pm.
