Much-awaited Mohanlal film maintains its initial good run

Early estimates of the Mohanlal’s latest offering point towards another success, as the highly-awaited Thudarum seems to carry forward its decent first day performance

After much anticipation, excitement and fanfare, Mohanlal and Shobana’s Malayalam film Thudarum finally hit theatres on April 25. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the initial reviews of the film seem to be glowing, with both the performance of its leads and the emotional quotient of the film, being appreciated by moviegoers and critics alike.

Thudarum Day 2 Box Office

The numbers for Thudarum are in, and according to industry tracker Sacnilk they look optimistic. While on Day 1, the movie earned an estimated ₹ 5.25 crore in India, as of now the second day estimates stand at ₹ 0.69 crore in India for all languages.

About Thudarum

Early reviews of Thudarum have been positive, with the performance of the cast, particularly its lead Mohanlal being highly appreciated. Apart from the performances, the film’s highly emotive and engaging storyline has also been lauded. Many people have termed the film as ‘unmissable’. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, who wrote the screenplay in association with K. R. Sunil, Thudarum was able to generate ample excitement and anticipation since its release and cast were announced.

While the leads of the movie are Mohanlal and Shobana, it also boasts of an impressive ensemble which includes Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Praba and Aravind.

Mohanlal plays the role of Shanmughan, a humble taxi driver who is extremely connected to his old Ambassador car. He considers it like a part of his family, but things take a turn challenging his outlook on life in an extremely emotional journey.
