Logitech also closes the loop by taking back old devices and reusing components. Jain explains, “Logitech is deeply committed to designing and manufacturing products sustainably, prioritizing transparency and minimizing environmental impact. We’re pioneering carbon transparency as the first consumer electronics company to provide detailed carbon impact labeling on our product packaging, empowering consumers to make informed purchasing decisions.” Interested readers can understand more about Logitech’s approach to sustainability in their 2024 Impact Report.
All OEMs around the world are working towards reducing plastic in their packaging. Computer peripherals is one of the biggest offenders, as manufacturers have to work against the pressure of visually showcasing their products in transparent bubbles, that get trashed as soon as the product is purchased. Logitech is continuously evolving its packaging to be increasingly sustainable, along with the products themselves. Jain explains, “We’re also committed to responsible packaging, minimizing single-use plastics and maximizing recycled content and recyclability. Now, 3 in 4 products across Logitech’s entire portfolio incorporate post- consumer recycled plastic. Additionally, we’re actively collaborating with suppliers to develop new, stronger recycled resins in a wider range of colors.”
