Mock drills in Delhi NCR: Power blackout in NDMC area from 8 pm to 8.15 pm
: Issuing a public notice, the NDMC announce that as preparatory measure, there will be a Power Black Out in NDMC area on May 7 from 8 pm to 8.15 pm under civil mock drill measures.

Issuing a notice, the NDMC said, “Important Notice: As preparatory measure, there will be a Power Black Out in NDMC area today during 8.00 pm to 8.15 pm under civil mock drill measures. All residents are requested to please cooperate and bear with the situation.”
After Operation Sindoor, several agencies are conducting mock drill in the national capital Delhi and adjoining NCR districts including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. The aim of the drill is to check the response time during crisis and educate the citizens on how to deal with any toward situation.
Why are the mock drills conducted?
After the Pakistan sponsored terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, the situation is tense between India and Pakistan. In view of this, mock drill is being conducted in 244 districts of the country today. A total of 10 agencies including NDRF, Fire Service, Civil Defence, Medical Teams are participating in the mock drill.
In Delhi, mock drill was conducted at six places. As soon as the siren sounded, the NDMC building was also evacuated. Through the mock drill, all the employees were safely taken to the basement of the building. The Delhi Fire Service rescued people from the upper floor of the multi-storey building.
A comprehensive mock drill was also conducted at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Nodal officer of the mock drill and ADM of New Delhi Nishant Bodh said that through this mock drill we checked the response time for rescue. Its report will be sent forward. In future, the response time will be reduced further. He appealed the citizens not to panic and urged them to follow the guidelines issued by the government.
A mock drill was also conducted at the Botanical Garden metro station in Noida to assess emergency preparedness.
