Kuldeep Yadav slaps Rinku Singh after DC’s defeat

Kuldeep Yadav slaps Rinku Singh in viral video after DC vs KKR; playful context missed as outrage and ban demands erupt online.

New Delhi:

A moment that quickly went viral captured Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav playfully slapping Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh after their IPL 2025 match on Tuesday.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media both cricketers were seen laughing with a few other players. However, Kuldeep suddenly playfully slapped Rinku twice, but it did not seem to go down well with the KKR star.

What’s Next?

Following the result, KKR now sit in seventh place with nine points from their ten matches. Delhi Capitals, however, remain firmly in the playoff hunt, placed fourth with 12 points from ten games. DC are scheduled to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, while KKR will take on Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.

In the match itself, KKR batter Rinku had played a useful hand in his team’s crucial game against Delhi, scoring 36 runs off 25 balls before being dismissed in the 18th over, keeping Kolkata Knight Riders’ playoff hopes alive with a 14-run victory over Delhi Capitals. KKR posted a total of 204 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and successfully defended it.

DC began the chase positively and appeared in control for much of the innings. However, the turning point of the match came in the 14th over when Sunil Narine delivered a match-defining spell as he dismissed Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs in the same over. DC couldn’t recover from there, and finally KKR won by 14 runs.

Rinku was visibly surprised after the first slap and appeared momentarily upset before being seen saying something to his Indian teammate following the second tap.

With no audio available, the full context of their interaction remains unclear, but fans on social media reacted strongly to Kuldeep’s actions, heavily criticising him. Some even went as far as to demand a ban from the BCCI.
