Kamal Haasan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his grief over the incident. Notably, the actor is currently embroiled in a controversy over his remark on the origin of the Kannada language, which has even sparked a political row.

Actor Kamal Haasan has reacted to the tragic Bengaluru stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru celebrated their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title win in 18 years. The mishap took place on Wednesday (June 4).

What did Kamal Haasan say?

Taking to X, Kamal Haasan said that he is “deeply distressed” to learn about the tragic stampede in Bengaluru and his “heart reaches out” to affected families. He shared, “Heart-wrenching tragedy in Bangalore. Deeply distressed and my heart reaches out to the families of the victims in this moment of grief. May the injured recover soon.”

Apart from the Thug Life actor, actor R Madhavan, Vivek Oberoi, and others reacted to the tragic mishap in Bengaluru. R Madhavan wrote on Instagram Stories, “This is so heartbreaking. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Please be responsible and safe and do not respond to rumours without checking with the authorities.”

To celebrate the first-ever win of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a massive crowd gathered outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which turned tragic after the stampede killed 11 people and injured over 30 others. According to authorities, most who died were young people, both men and women, and several among them were students.
