The Indian Premier League 2025 has proved to be yet another spectacle like the previous editions. The cash-rich league is more than halfway through and race to t he playoffs has heated up with franchises engaged in a tug of war for place in the top four.

Teams like the Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have already been knocked out of the top 4 race.

Rishabh Pant was bought by LSG for a whopping Rs 27 crore, becoming the costliest player ever in the Indian Premier League. In the IPL 2025, Pant has scored just 128 in 11 matches at an average of 12.80.

Meanwhile, fans and people from the cricketing fraternity have taken a swipe at these misfiring players, Iceland Cricket, known for its amusing posts on social media, did not remain silent and expectedly took a dig at Pant and other cricketers by naming them in their team of biggest ‘frauds and scammers’ of the 18th edition of the league.

Some of the big names in IPL like Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan among others have failed to deliver up to the expectations facing a lot of heat and criticism from fans. Having being bought for mammoth prices at the auction, the players haven’t proven their price tags worth.

The Royals Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans are in the strongest position to qualify to the knockouts.

One of the side from Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will probably be the fourth side in playoffs. While a lot of players in the league have provided entertainment to another level while there are some who have disappointed a lot.
