House of Pahalgam attack suspect destroyed in blast
A search and cordon operation was being carried out by security forces in a village in Tral when a powerful explosion took place in one of the houses. The house reportedly belongs to the terrorist involved in Pahalgam attack, which left 28 people dead.

Sources in the police department said that during the cordon and search operation, security forces noticed some suspicious objects. Sensing danger, the forces pulled back to ensure safety. However soon after the forces were out, a powerful blast occurred. The swift action by the forces prevented any casualties.
Security forces carried out a search operation in a village in Tral South Kashmir on Thursday. According to sources, as the search and cordon operation was on, there was a powerful blast which completely destroyed a house. The house which was destroyed belonged to a man named Asif Sheikh, who is reportedly involved in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Following the powerful explosion, the house was completely destroyed. Although preliminary findings suggest that the destruction was caused by the explosive material kept inside the house, further investigation is going on in the case.
Pahalgam attack
Security forces have been carrying out aggressive search and combing operations in Jammu and Kashmir, following the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. On April 22, 28 people, mostly tourists were gunned down by terrorists, when they were not able to recite a “holy verse” on the orders of the terrorists.
Following the Pahalgam attack, another encounter was also underway in Bandipora on Friday morning. The Indian government has responded strongly to the Pahalgam attack. PM Modi has vowed the strongest possible punishment to the perpetrators of the attack. India has also sent out a strong message to Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident. Two of the terrorists involved in the attack were reportedly from that country. India has closed the check post at the Attari border and asked the Pakistanis in India on SVES visa to leave at the earliest.
