Shubman Gill unbeaten half century complemented Mohammed Siraj’s four-wicket burst as Gujarat Titans comfortably defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in an IPL 2025 game on Sunday.

After Gujarat won the toss and opted to bowl, they stopped Hyderabad at 152/8 and then reached their target in 16.4 overs with skipper Gill staying not out on 61 from 43 balls, hitting nine boundaries.

Siraj stops SRH at 152/8

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj began where he left of in Gujarat’s last match as his 4/17 helped Gujarat Titans contain Sunrisers Hyderabad’s formdiable batting line-up to 152 for eight.

Siraj was adjudged the man of match in Gujarat’s last match as his 3/19 helped them beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru. On Sunday, he was fiery with he new ball as he dismissed SRH openers Travis Head (8) and Abhishek Sharma (18) cheaply.

The right arm pacer then returned towards the end of SRH’s innings to bag two more wickets on a sluggish track t the Uppal stadium. His efforts were complemented by left arm spinner R Sai Kishore (2/24) and seamer Prasidh Krishna (2/25)

Veteran seamer Ishant Sharma conceded 53 runs in his four overs that allowed SRH to get past the 150-run mark. They were 135 for eight at the beginning of the final over.

None of SRH batters could convert their starts into meaningful knocks as Head flicked Siraj towards Sai Sudharsan, who completed a sharp catch at mid-wicket.

Siraj then accounted for Abhishek as he misjudged an aerial shot to be caught at mid-on. SRH reached 45 for two at the end of the power play after which Ishan Kishan (17) miscued a pull off a Prasidh Krishna to be caught at deep square leg by Ishant.

Nitish Kumar Reddy (31 off 34 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen (27 off 19 balls) tried to arrest the slide with a fifty-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Klaasen hit several boundaries and a six off Rashid Khan but Sai Kishore sent back the South Africa. Shortly after, Reddy also perished while trying to hit Sai Kishore for a six.

He got support from Washington Sundar, who made a 29-ball 49 (5×4, 2×6) while Sherfane Rutherford scored an unbeaten 35 off 16 deliveries with the help of six fours and a six.

Gujarat’s third successive win helped them climb to the second spot with six points from four matches while Hyderabad’s fourth straight loss kept them at the bottom of the 10-team standings with two points from five matches.
