The OMEN MAX 16 introduces several firsts for HP, including AI-driven performance optimization via OMEN AI and a custom-built cooling system to support a combined CPU-GPU power draw of over 250W. The laptop is now available in India starting at ₹3,09,999.
HP has officially launched the OMEN MAX 16 gaming laptop in India, positioning it as its most powerful gaming device to date. The machine pairs Intel’s new Core Ultra 9-275HX processor with NVIDIA’s high-end GeForce RTX 5080 GPU and packs a suite of AI-enhanced features aimed at serious gamers. The announcement comes as India’s gaming hardware market continues to expand, with demand for premium devices rising among enthusiasts.
AI meets high-performance gaming
The AI element also extends to the OMEN Gaming Hub’s Unleashed Mode, which enables gamers to fine-tune power settings and thermal limits for optimal output. According to HP, this combination of features pushes the laptop into a new category of AI-aware gaming systems.
At the heart of the OMEN MAX 16 lies HP’s new OMEN AI. The company claims it’s the world’s first one-click AI optimization tool built specifically for gaming performance. It’s designed to eliminate the guesswork around performance tweaks by learning from gameplay and adjusting settings dynamically. The feature debuts with support for games like Counter-Strike 2 and is expected to expand to more titles over time.
What’s under the hood
The laptop comes with a 16-inch 2560×1600 resolution IPS panel, up to 64GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB PCIe 5.0 SSD. Its graphics backbone, the RTX 5080 GPU with NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, promises faster ray tracing and AI-driven performance boosts with DLSS 4.
Cooling is managed by HP’s Tempest Cooling Pro architecture, which includes heat pipes, a vapor chamber covering over half the motherboard, and a hybrid liquid metal thermal compound. Fan direction reversal technology has also been added to reduce dust build-up over time.
Personalisation and build
Security-wise, the device includes a Full HD IR camera for Windows Hello logins and a physical privacy shutter for added peace of mind.
HP offers the OMEN MAX 16 in Ceramic White and Shadow Black colourways. Gamers can customise the RGB keyboard lighting and even an optional RGB light bar via OMEN Light Studio. A metal chassis, per-key RGB backlighting, and HyperX-inspired design cues add to the aesthetic appeal.
Designed for India’s gaming future
Vineet Gehani, Senior Director of Personal Systems at HP India, said that the OMEN MAX 16 aims to meet the rising demand for performance and personalisation in India’s gaming space. “India’s gaming industry is evolving rapidly, with players demanding high-performance and personalized experiences,” he said.
The laptop also aligns with HP’s sustainability goals, incorporating ocean-bound plastics, recycled metals, and eco-friendly packaging. It holds ENERGY STAR certification and EPEAT Gold registration.
Availability and pricing
The OMEN MAX 16 is now available in India through HP’s official website and Amazon. It is priced starting at ₹3,09,999 and is currently available in the Shadow Black variant.
