The employee who goes by the name “iamsadsometimes1” on Reddit said they had joined an organisation that followed a six-day work policy. However, the employee alleged they were expected to work on Sundays also. In the post, the employee spoke of the difficulties they faced in securing a 4-day leave. The individual claimed that their manager insisted on them finishing the tasks during their leave. However, the employee informed them of the inconvenience. Little did they know what would follow.

In recent years, discussions about toxicity in workplaces have been ongoing for ages. Despite the conversations, a major change in the conditions of employees is yet to be observed. An employee took him to Reddit to speak about a bizarre incident that had happened to them. The person was placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) after he refused to work on weekends during his leave.

When they came back from leave, the HR contacted them and told them they are getting placed on PIP for poor performance. “This is just so messed up; I can’t understand how this could even be legal. Do organisations have such power that they can do whatever they want?” said the individual on Reddit.

The post left netizens shocked by the employee’s ordeal. They could not believe organisations could be this unethical and lashed out at the manager for being toxic. They asked the employee to document everything. One stated, “Ask HR to drop an email, looping in your manager, mentioning the exact KRA/parameters that qualify for PIP.” Another commented, “Name and shame such company and that shitty manager. Those managers deserve a full chappal shot. I wish that the manager would get fired too and beg for a job.”
