Elon Musk’s XChat Beta launches
Elon Musk’s X platform has rolled out its new messaging feature, XChat, to select beta testers. The update promises secure, end-to-end encrypted chats, disappearing messages, and more.
New Delhi:
X’s beta testing, which is only open to subscribers, is creating a lot of excitement. Nima Owji, a reverse engineer and tech researcher, confirmed that XChat is nearly ready for launch, supporting Musk’s ambition to change messaging for many people.
X(twitter) has introduced its new direct messaging system, XChat, to a group of beta testers. Elon Musk’s goal to turn X into a comprehensive digital platform now gets a boost with this feature, which aims to give users a secure, flexible and user-friendly messaging experience.
XChat’s promising features
XChat focuses on bringing new messaging options, going further than the usual direct messaging system. Even though the company have not revealed all their plans, there are hints that users will be able to message in groups, send encrypted messages, use messages that disappear, share files and mark some messages as unread. A four-digit passcode shows that privacy and security are important to the developer.
As XChat is released, X announces it will stop working on its encrypted DM function. By making this change, it looks like XChat is meant to take over the older setup and provide a more secure and advanced alternative that supports Musk’s vision of an all-in-one app.
A potential rival for messaging giants
With these changes, XChat may compete with famous messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram. If the experiment works well, the platform will have a new way to engage users and attract them beyond sharing popular updates.
Beta testing will help the platform address the challenge of making the promise reliable and user-friendly. If XChat matches the expectations, it could help lead X’s development and establish a new approach to private messaging.
