Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Sardar Ji 3’ faces calls for ban due to inclusion of Pakistani actors

Ever since the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir, Indian film associations have called for Pakistani artists to not be included in Indian productions. Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming movie Sardar Ji 3 is facing calls for boycott for the same reason

New Delhi:

Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming movie Sardar Ji 3 is currently under fire, facing calls for boycott. This comes after it reportedly included several Pakistani artists.

Calls for banning Sardar Ji 3 ensue

The BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghaadi has demanded a ban on the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film ‘Sardar Ji 3’ due to inclusion of Pakistani actors in the film. The organisation has voiced serious concerns over Pakistani artists being featured in the film after recent tensions between the two countries and alleged anti-India statements of several Pakistani artists, some of whom were reportedly being featured in the film.

Many popular Pakistani personalities had made objectionable comments against Operation Sindoor on their social media platforms. The BJP film body has formally demanded that CBFC deny the film a censor certificate and prevent its theatrical release across India on June 27.

The BJP film union said in a statement, “We strongly oppose any Pakistani artiste being associated with Indian cinema. It is the demand of the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Union that Sardar Ji 3 should not be allowed to receive a censor certificate. This is not just a political issue – it is about national sentiment and the dignity of our country.”

“Pakistan has openly declared India its enemy, and yet we continue to open doors for their artistes and entertainers. This is unacceptable. As representatives of the Indian film industry’s workers and technicians, we cannot stand by and allow this to happen”, the statement further said.

Several reports had earlier come out which suggested that the film would star Pakistani actress Hania Aamir opposite Diljit Dosanjh in the lead. Apart from Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela are other Pakistani artists that were reportedly to be featured in the upcoming film.
