 This year’s Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner. Hosted in Cannes, a city located on the French Riviera in France, the festival is one of the biggest international film festivals. The festival is not only known for screening films, but also for being the stage for the best fashion appearances.

Cannes Film Festival jury list

This time, Indian director and screenwriter Payal Kapadia, who won the Grand Prix in Cannes last year for her film, All We Imagine As Light, is a part of the jury at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Other notable names include French actress Juliette Binoche, Halle Berry, Alba Rohrwacher, Leila Slimani, Jeremy Strong, Dieudo Hamadi, Carlos Raygadas, and Hong Sangsoo.

When is the Cannes Film Festival?

The 78th Cannes Film Festival will begin on May 13 (Tuesday) and will conclude on May 24.

Movies to be screened at Cannes Film Festival 2025

Indian movie, Aranyer Din Ratri (Days And Nights In The Forest), directed by legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray will be presented during the Cannes Film Festival. The 1970 movie was restored in 4K version and the screening will be attended by Sharmila Tagore. Additionally, Wes Anderson will honour Satyajit Ray at the festival. Another Indian movie to be screened is Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound.

Other movies to be screened at the prestigious festival are Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible- The Final Reckoning, Dakota Johnson’s Splitsville, Paul Mescal’s The History of Sound, and Spike Lee and Denzel Washington’s Highest to Lowest, among others.

Indian celebs at Cannes Film Festival 2025

Actress Alia Bhatt is set to make her debut at the Festival de Cannes this year. She will be present at the French Riviera as a Global Ambassador of L’Oréal Paris along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Other international stars expected at the festival are Scarlett Johansson, Richard Linklater, Ari Aster, Kelly Reichardt, Joachim Trier and Jafar Panahi, among others.
