CMF Phone 2 Pro teased ahead of launch
CMF by Nothing is set to launch the CMF Phone 2 Pro in India on April 28, alongside new audio accessories. A teaser reveals a refreshed rear panel design with a textured finish and hints at interchangeable back covers.
The teaser, uploaded on X, features a screw lodged into the back panel, speculating whether or not the Phone 2 Pro will have interchangeable back panels similar to the predecessor. Also visible is the branding of CMF at the bottom and the speaker array at the base of the device, along with the phrase “new finish”. The smartphone is verified to go on sale through Flipkart, and it will be joined by three new audio accessories — CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2a, and CMF Buds 2 Plus — all releasing at 6:30 PM IST on the same day.
Nothing’s CMF has finally announced the launch date of its new smartphone, the CMF Phone 2 Pro — for April 28 in India. Ahead of its launch, the company has shared a brief teaser video on social media, providing a glimpse into the design of the phone’s rear panel. In the teaser, it’s obvious that the new model retains the brand’s signature design language seen in last year’s CMF Phone 1 but boasts a new textured finish, suggesting subtle yet stylish improvements.
Retaining signature design with a fresh twist
The CMF Phone 2 Pro seems to follow the CMF Phone 1, especially when it comes to its modular concept design. The screw’s inclusion suggests that customers might be able to swap out back panels for a more personalised appearance, something that distinguished the first model in the budget space. The addition of the new rear texture could bring not only aesthetic value but also better grip and resilience.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro may carry forward the legacy of its predecessor, Phone 1, which launched in July 2024 at Rs 15,999, by introducing enhanced hardware along with design enhancements. The CMF Phone 1 featured a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED LTPS screen that operated at a 120Hz refresh rate while relying on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chip and up to 8GB of RAM for support. The Phone 2 Pro contains a 50MP Sony main camera alongside a portrait sensor as well as a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The upcoming launch will bring an equivalent feature-packed experience to fans who might also get better specifications and enhanced build quality.
