Bank Holidays in April 2025: RBI state-wise List
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the bank holidays for April 2025. These holidays include national holidays like Good Friday and state-specific festivals such as Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, and Bohag Bihu.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases a state-wise bank holiday list for every month. Bank holidays are decided as per the national holidays and state-specific events and holidays in India vary from state to state. All banks across the country will observe a holiday on April 1 for the finalisation of yearly accounts.
In April 2025, banks will be closed in different states across different states, for various events such as Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday, Bohag Bihu, Basava Jayanti, and Akshaya Tritiya.
Besides this banks will remain closed on every Sunday falling in the Month of April – Dates are April 6, 13, 20 and 27. Banks will also observe a holidays of Second (April 12) and last Saturday (April 26) of the first month of the next financial year

April 5: Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday: Banks will observe a holiday in Telangana.
April 15:Â Banks will be closed in states, including Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh for Bengali New Year, Himachal Day, Bohag Bihu.
April 14: On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Vishu, Bihu, Tamil New Year, etc – the banks will observe a holiday in several places across the country – Tripura, Gujarat, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
April 18:Â Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan, Jammu, Tripura, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar for Good Friday.
April 21:Â Banks will remain closed in Tripura for Garia Puja tribal festival.
April 29:Â Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated on this day. The banks will observe a holiday in Himachal Pradesh to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram.
April 30:Â There will be a bank holiday in Karnataka to observe Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.
