OnePlus 13s: Why is it worth the wait

We have reviewed and tested the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R—both have proven their performance, software experience, and premium design capabilities in their respective price ranges. Now, the tech giant is bringing another sibling to them—the OnePlus 13s. It will be compact with a 6.32-inch display, which is quite decent to hold a small smartphone. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 also features a 6.2-inch display, the Google Pixel 9 has a 6.3-inch display, and the iPhone 16 gets a 6.1-inch display. While the OnePlus 13s is not bringing the most compact Android in the current era, but there are other factors to it which make it exciting: 

Proven trust of OnePlus

Considering the performance of the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, it can be assumed that the upcoming compact device will share several features and experience from its other members of the series. However, what new it will bring to the table is yet to be seen.

Flagship performance at a reasonable price

Before we begin, just remember that the Samsung Galaxy S25 was launched at Rs 74,999, the iPhone 16 at Rs 79,999, and the Pixel 9 at Rs 79,999. While the official price of the OnePlus 13s is still a secret, however, leaks suggest that it could be around Rs 50,000. Which makes sense considering that the OnePlus 13 was launched at Rs 69,999. At a reasonable price, the OnePlus 13s is expected to bring the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. 

A new Plus Key

OnePlus revealed that the OnePlus 13s will get a new physical button dubbed “Plus Key” which will be customisable to let you choose your tasks for it. 

Things to worry about

Compact smartphones often compromise on battery life. Whether that will be fixed by the OnePlus 13s is yet to be known with its launch. Also, how will it perform? We will have to wait for the official launch. 

But one thing is for sure, the OnePlus 13s is expected to be a much-awaited compact phone for small phone lovers.
