Vidaamuyarchi:
Vidaamuyarchi box office collection Day 4: Vidaamuyarchi means perseverance in English, and it is this perseverance that became the hallmark of the film’s box office showing this weekend. Braving mixed reviews and an almost 61% dip on Day 2 (Friday), the Ajith Kumar-starrer had an impressive weekend with a 31.7% rise in collections. While the film made Rs 13.5 crore on Saturday, it has managed to equal the number on Sunday, and according to trade website Sacnilk, the Day 4 numbers are estimated to be around Rs 13 crore.
With a decent showing in the weekend, Vidaamuyarchi, which hasn’t been able to capitalise on the Rs 26 crore opening day, managed to earn Rs 62.75 crore in the domestic market. With an estimated Rs 32.3 crore in the global market, it is reported that the film is inching towards Rs 100 crore, with the present tally around Rs 93-95 crore. Interestingly, despite not catering to the fan service often seen in such superstar vehicles, Vidaamuyarchi is still raking up a decent showing when compared to previous Ajith films. For instance, the domestic numbers of Thvnivu at the end of its weekend run was Rs 67.4 crore, which was over the period of five days as opposed to the four-day run of Vidaamuyarchi.
Despite Vidaamuyarchi being released in Telugu as Pattudala, the film hardly made a dent at the Telugu box-office as the film managed to just make Rs 1.5 crores over the first four days. It is the Tamil version that is bringing in the money. On the occupancy front, the Tamil version had a decent 45.95% rate, which is a good showing, but for a film of this stature, it is expected to have a much better rate. The mixed reviews and almost low-key publicity could have acted as deterrents to the occupancy. The Telugu version had a 13.29% occupancy, which reiterates the need for a proper publicity in place for films trying to make inroads into other language markets.
Nevertheless, Vidaamuyarchi has become the highest-grossing Tamil film in 2025, and has entered into the top 5 list in Indian cinema too. The other films in the list include Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Game Changer, Sky Force, and Daaku Maharaaj. With Vidaamuyarchi expected to have an obstacle-free run till February 21, where the young guns would take charge with films like Nilavuku Enmel Enadi Kobam and Dragon, there are chances of the film picking up pace, but it all depends on how the first Monday fares.
