German automaker BMW unveiled the 2026 iteration of the BMW XM at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new model features a more streamlined lineup and a range of minor updates. Currently, the ongoing model is available globally in three variants, whereas the 2026 iteration will be available in a single 'Label' variant, omitting all other trims. It will feature a hybrid powertrain with a V8 petrol engine, claimed to be the most powerful road vehicle ever produced by BMW M. The new vehicle introduces a fresh colour scheme, interior colour theme, and wheel options. Additionally, its charging rate has been increased.
2026 BMW XM Label: What’s new?
The cabin of the new BMW XM offers three colour options: BMW Individual Night Blue Full Merino Leather with Vintage Coffee accents, BMW Individual Black Full Merino Leather with Vintage Coffee accents, and BMW Individual Silverstone Extended Merino leather with Black accents. Additionally, the rear seat cushions now match the seat colours as a standard feature across all BMW Individual Merino leather themes. Furthermore, the AC charging rate of the 2026 BMW XM Label has increased from 7.4 kW to 11 kW.
The key highlight of the 2026 BMW XM is that it is now offered exclusively in the XM Label variant. It features a new metallic paint named Frozen Tanzanite Blue, which highlights the overall design of the SUV. The vehicle now includes a new Welcome Light Animation, and 23-inch ‘M’ alloy wheels in a Jet Black finish.
2026 BMW XM Label: Specifications
The 2026 BMW XM Label comes in a plug-in hybrid setup, featuring a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 19.2 kWh battery pack. The V8 engine alone produces a power output of 585 bhp, the electric motor integrated into the transmission delivers a power output of 197 bhp, making a combined power output of 748 bhp and torque of 1,000 Nm. BMW claims it to be the most powerful BMW M model ever produced.
2026 BMW XM Label: Price, availability, rivals
Notably, the 2026 BMW XM Label will be manufactured at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, with production commencing in August this year. In India, the ongoing BMW XM, sold in a single variant, is priced at Rs 2.60 crore (ex-showroom), and is expected to be priced slightly higher than this. The official pricing of the new model is yet to be announced.
After launch, the 2026 BMW XM Label will compete with the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, and the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT.
