‘This is not Indian Idol!’: Neha Kakkar heckled by fans for arriving late at Melbourne show

Neha Kakkar found herself at the center of controversy after breaking down on stage in Melbourne following a three-hour delay. The singer is being heavily trolled for her reaction, with fans calling it unprofessional.

New Delhi:

Singer Neha Kakkar has once again found herself in the spotlight for the sole reason she is popular. The 36-year-old star is facing major backlash after breaking down on stage at a Melbourne concert, where she arrived a whopping three hours late.

Why was Neha Kakkar late to her own concert?

Well, that’s the million-dollar question and Neha hasn’t offered an explanation yet. While tour delays are common due to technical issues, travel mishaps, or mismanagement, fans were left in the dark about the reason behind the long wait. Her silence on the matter has only fueled speculation.

Neha is no stranger to emotional outbursts. Her usual habit of crying on reality shows like Indian Idol has generated multiple memes on social media for years.

However, this time, the public reaction has been less forgiving. Many online users slammed her for being “inconsiderate” toward her audience, arguing that a professional artist should respect fans’ time. Some even accused her of “playing the victim”, while others wondered why she was late in the first place.

“We get it, you’re emotional, but showing up three hours late and then crying? Not fair to the audience,” wrote one user. Another added, “This isn’t Indian Idol where people have to cry to win. Fans paid for this show.”

While some fans appreciated her sincerity, not everyone was in the mood for an emotional spectacle. The live audience didn’t hold back, with hecklers shouting “This is not India, you’re in Australia!” and others sarcastically clapping back with “Great acting!” and “Go back! We’ve been waiting for three hours.

In a viral video from the event, the Badri Ki Dulhania crooner is seen in tears, apologising to fans for the unexpected delay. “You guys are so sweet! You’ve waited for so long. I hate making anyone wait. I’m so sorry!” she said, visibly overwhelmed. She went on to promise, “I will always remember this evening. You guys have managed time for me, and I’ll make sure to make you all dance tonight.”
