‘Entire Pakistan within range,’ declares top army officer

This follows recent military escalations, including India's successful targeting of Pakistani air bases using advanced drones and precision-guided munitions. The General also noted the interception of 800-1000 Pakistani drones.

New Delhi:

“India has an adequate arsenal of weapons to take on Pakistan right across its depth. So, from its broadest to its narrowest, wherever it is, the whole of Pakistan is within range… The GHQ (General Headquarters) can move from Rawalpindi to KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) or wherever they want to move, but they’re all within range,” the Army officer  can be heard as saying in the video.

A top Indian Army officer has issued a stark warning to Pakistan, asserting that India possesses the military capability to strike targets across the entire breadth of Pakistani territory.

Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D’Cunha, Director General of Army Air Defence, stated in an interview with news agency ANI that “the whole of Pakistan is within range” of India’s advanced weaponry.

The success of these strikes, according to the officer, is a testament to India’s development and deployment of advanced indigenous technology. Long-range drones and precision-guided munitions played a critical role in achieving the desired results with minimal collateral damage.

General D’Cunha also highlighted the effective interception of approximately 800 to 1000 Pakistani drones launched across the western border over four days. Through coordinated efforts between the Army, Navy, and Air Force, all weaponised drones were successfully neutralised, preventing civilian casualties.

General D’Cunha emphasised India’s arsenal’s ability to reach any point within Pakistan, regardless of location. He explicitly stated that even if the Pakistani Army relocates its General Headquarters (GHQ) from Rawalpindi, it would remain within striking distance.

This statement directly follows recent military escalations, during which Indian forces claimed successful targetting of multiple Pakistani air bases, with the effects reportedly felt deep within Rawalpindi itself.

This assertive statement comes in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. The retaliatory actions by the Pakistani Army, which included drone attacks and cross-border firing, were met with “precision strikes” on Pakistani military bases, leading to a negotiated ceasefire on May 10th, which remains in effect.
