Rana Daggubati weighs on Deepika Padukone’s 8-hour work shift demand

Now, in an interview with Lallantop Cinema, Rana Daggubati weighed in on the matter and opined that it depends on industry to industry and person to person. He even cited Narayana Murthy’s comment about a 12-hour work shift and said that nobody is “forcing anybody”.
Actress Deepika Padukone was reportedly dropped from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Spirit over her “unprofessional demands”, including an eight-hour work day, a share in the film’s profit, a high salary, and not speaking dialogues in Telugu. After becoming a new mother, Deepika’s eight-hour shift sparked debate over work-life balance.
What did Rana Daggubati say about Deepika’s demands?
The Rana Naidu actor also shared that there are actors who only work four hours a day. He further said, “Nobody is forcing anybody. It’s a job. You can’t be forced to do a job. Everyone has their own opinion on what’s important to them in their life.”
He also added, “There are actors who only work four hours a day – that’s their system of working. They end up doing more than what a guy in 8 hours does. It’s different for everybody, and it’s not a general discussion.”
In an interview with Lallantop, Rana Daggubati weighed in on Deepika Padukone’s eight-hour shift demand and stated that in Maharashtra, it’s a 12-hour shift, while in Telugu cinema, there is an eight-hour shift, which starts at 7 am. He added that it’s “not generic” because it depends on how much prep you need to shoot on a set, adding, “There are films taking place on a big spectacle where only two shoots take place in a day.”
Deepika’s exit from Spirit
After Deepika Padukone’s exit from Prabhas-starrer Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacted strongly and wrote on X (formerly Twitter, “There is an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘disclosed’ the person that you are.” He further accused the actress of trying to put down a younger actress, adding, “You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it.”
Following Deepika’s reported exit, actress Triptii Dimri was confirmed as the female lead of the film.
