Noida Metro projects
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is working on two new metro projects. One is an 11.56 km stretch from Botanical Garden to Sector 142, and the other is a 5 km stretch from Noida’s Sector 51 to Knowledge Park-5 in Greater Noida West. Detailed project reports (DPRs) for both routes have already been prepared by NMRC and sent to the central government for final approval.
At present, there is no direct Metro link between Greater Noida and Delhi through the Noida Metro’s 29.7 km Aqua Line. Also, the connection between the Aqua Line and Delhi Metro’s Blue Line—which comes through Mayur Vihar and ends at the Electronic City station in Sector 62—is not smooth or direct. The upcoming 11.56 km stretch will improve this by creating a proper connection and making it easier for people to travel. This new route will also bring the Metro closer to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, making travel to the airport easier in the future.
