The arrests follow a vigilance report that confirmed misuse of power and undue pressure on the SRH franchise during the last IPL season.

According to a statement by the CID officials, Rao allegedly created forged documents in the name of the Sri Chakra Cricket Club. Kavitha, President of the Sri Chakra Cricket Club, is accused of forging the signature of C. Krishna Yadav (President of Gawlipura Cricket Club) on these documents and providing them to Jagan Mohan Rao. Rao then allegedly used these falsified documents to become HCA President.
The ongoing dispute between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has taken a serious turn, with the Crime Investigation Department (CID) arresting HCA President A Jagan Mohan Rao and several others. The CID officials stated that Jagan Mohan Rao created forged documents and used them to become HCA president. The CID also found that HCA Treasurer Srinivasa Rao and CEO Sunil had cooperated with Jaganmohan Rao in misusing HCA funds. The CID said that along with the HCA President, Srinivasa Rao, Sunil Kante, Rajender Yadav and Kavitha of Sri Chakra Criket Club have been arrested.
The controversy stemmed from a dispute over match ticket allocations. SRH management had accused the HCA of denying them access to tickets and locking the corporate box after they refused to comply with certain demands. In response, the SRH team reportedly threatened to shift its base out of Hyderabad.
